## Lab introduction
- A general introduction:
- Please clean your seat and log out before you leave for the next lab session.
- Please turn your cell phones off before entering class and/or the computer lab.
- Students will be required to supply headphones in the lab if you want to follow web tutorials time to time.
- Please use the computer only in relation to the class activities.
## Tumblr account
- Go to [Tumblr](https://www.tumblr.com/) and if you don't have an account, please make yours.
- You need to be invited to become a member of the class portfolio by the website manager.
- Please leave your first 'hello' comment into the lab Tumblr site to complete the process.

Maya has **a very flexible workflow** which doesn't impose many constraints. For the most part there is more than one way to approach a particular problem. This means that you can use whichever approach is most suited to your needs. In time, you will learn **how to create your very own custom workflows**.

## Menu
### Main menu
Menus contain both tools and actions for setting up scenes. The main menu is at the top of the Maya window. There are also individual menus for the panels and option windows.

- Research 3D modeling works (online or offline) and upload the one that **inspires you most** to the class lab Tumblr portfolio, with an image, a credit, reference, and/or link for it, and one sentence to explain what about it inspires you. Try to find one which, can be unique to others. When you upload please write down **"a01 (assignment 01) by your school ID, name, date" - This is important for the sake of grading later.**
- Prepare a sketchbook & pencils for sketching your ideas. Next class, you will build a simple robot.
